New York State Department of Civil Service – Employee Benefits Division

nyshiponline

Our original engagement with the New York State Department of Civil Service Employee Benefits Division involved print communications and traditional advertising services. After many years of successfully providing these services, our role expanded to include development and maintenance of their Web sites.

The two sites are NYS OnLine, which provides all benefit information (health insurance, workers' compensation, etc.) to New York State employees and healthcare providers, and EBD OnLine, which was developed as an Intranet site for health benefits administrators.

We developed NYS OnLine in 1998, EBD OnLine in 1999, and continue to maintain both, performing maintenance on, and enhancements to, the sites on a daily basis. As part of our maintenance, we consult with the Department of Civil Service to help them find the most efficient and effective means to reach their many goals and high standards. Both sites are compliant with current New York State accessibility standards. Some of the features include:

  • An online event calendar
  • A keyword search engine
  • Adjustable font size changer

  • A redesign of the existing Web site
  • An online employment application that routes applications to specific staff members
  • An online M/WBE compliance report form
  • Several other online forms for which we route the data via e-mail to staff members, or collect it in SQL databases for future use
  • An online database and keyword search
  • Two scrolling headlines

Several content management tools for various sections of the site, to enable non-technical staff to make important updates, including tools for:

  • Employment opportunities
  • Press releases
  • Procurement opportunities

East Greenbush Democratic Party

East Greenbush Democratic Party

As part of a multifaceted communications campaign, we designed an online home for the East Greenbush Democratic Party. The site serves as a hub of information, where town residents can keep up with local news and events, register to vote, sign up to volunteer and contribute to the Party. The site utilizes the Drupal content management system, allowing Party members to maintain and update the site.

Montgomery County Business Development Center

mcbdc.org

Montgomery County Business Development Center brought their Internet presence and productivity to the next level while saving money. We created a look and logo that reinforces their new branding campaign, "So many ways to move." By leveraging the Drupal content management system Montgomery County is able to bring its own website updates in house, bypassing the need for a webmaster, and greatly speeding up their Internet turn around time. In addition to managing basic content the website includes an interactive events calendar, secure member area for staff to share files, and greatly improved recent projects and real estate sections. New York Alliance for Donation (NYAD) Website Redesign

alliancefordonation.org

MB&A's design and web teams updated NYAD's website, www.alliancefordonation.org, with a new design, layout and navigation to enhance the site's user-friendliness and integrate social media tools such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube. Our design team maintained corporate colors, tag lines and logos from NYAD's existing site, but produced custom graphics and a contemporary, youthful and fresh design.

Creating a social media presence is an effective way for NYAD to maximize its communication, drive messaging on the Internet while increasing donor registration among a younger, online community such as college students. NYAD can cross promote events, announcements, testimonials and activities, respond to its community and ultimately focus and improve the content on its web page. NYAD can take greater advantage of these sites and participate in podcasts, message boards, forums and video sharing with the social media tools consumers are using today.

Our web team built the new website on top of the Wordpress CMS which best suited NYAD's users closely involved with its content and daily maintenance. Less technical users are now able to edit and publish on NYAD's web site updating web pages, events, news/feature stories, announcements, new legislation, frequently ask questions and other topics about organ donation. The Wordpress CMS helps NYAD keep its website topical and up-to-date.

Gleason, Dunn, Walsh and O'Shea

gdwo.com

Gleason, Dunn, Walsh and O'Shea asked us to develop, design and implement their Web presence. After conducting a rebranding initiative, we set about to create an online home for the firm. With no prior Web presence, GDWO understood the importance of establishing a strong online home to fit seamlessly with their new corporate identity. The site conveys GDWO's professionalism, practicality and personal service. We developed the site's concept, design, architecture and navigation before directing an in-house photo shoot.

Joseph Carr Wine

josephcarrwine.com

We worked with award-winning wine producer Joseph Carr to redesign and redevelop his Web site. The site, with a classic- yet sleek- design, reinforces the strong brand identity Joseph Carr has established for his wines. Highlights include contact and background information, photographs, images and logos for wine industry trade purposes, as well as detailed, downloadable specification sheets for each of the wines Joseph Carr produces.

We add weekly updates and edits, including keeping the "calendar of events" page and the portfolio section current.

Retired Public Employees Association

rpea.org

The Retired Public Employees Association (RPEA) turned to us for a complete redesign and redevelopment of their Web site, which provides comprehensive news and information to retired public employee members and their families. We were able to deliver a user-friendly site that RPEA can easily, safely, and efficiently update and manage independently.
